Promises, Promises

We make them and we break them, because some promises are hard to keep. Most of the time we know that we will never  keep certain promises, so why do we make them in first place?
We promise when we are happy, feeling positive, optimisic or inspired, but we also make promises to get rid of someone or something. There are some type of promises that we know we’ll never keep, but still say them anyway.

When we meet a new friend during summer, we usually exchange emails and phone numbers with the promise that we will contact and never forget eachother, the beautiful time we had together, etc., etc.. This, of course, won’t happen. NO,NO,NO!

“Your secret is safe with me!” This sentence is useless. In my country, it’s a proverb saying that if your own mouth can’t hide it, than no other mouth can.

Or this one:

“It won’t hurt, I promise” Doctors’ favourite phrase. No! Just, no!

When someone borrows money from us they promise they’ll give you your money back as soon as possible. But then they seem to forget their promise and the worst thing is you can not ask for what’s yours because they will think you’re being mean and unfriendly.

Each time our parents see our grades, we promise to study harder and harder. We promise a milion time, still we keep the promise for only two or three days.

I would like to know why do you think we make promises when we know we probably won't keep them? Do you make any of the above promises? Let me know by commenting below.

Please, not next to me!

Some of us like to travel, and some of us don't. We all have our reasons to do so. But there is something to which we all agree... The annoying passengers. There are some types of passengers that you just don't want to have sitting next to you. According to me, these are the most annoying people when travelling.

1. Conversation Makers
You can spot them immediately, as they start taking as soon as they sit next to you. You can't just ignore them. They are going to ask you about everything and the thing you'd like to do in that moment is tell them to shut up, but that would be mean. Instead, you try to show them politely that you are annoyed and not interested, by opening a book, playing on your phone or just looking from the window, but this people seem to not understand. Poor you!

2. Small Children
You may be someone who adores children and loves spending time with them, but when you have one sitting next to you on the plane, you will probably doubt your love for children and swear that you won't ever take a babysitting job. In fact there are two types of travelling children:
  • The quiet ones (this is the time to know if you are a lucky person or not)
  • The ones who keep screaming, moving, jumping, kicking. Oh, God!

3. Space Invaders
These people have the terrible habit of taking up all of their room, and also some of the other person's room too. They usually sit in a way, that can't allow you move your arms, legs or find a comfortable way to sit.

4. Snoring People
I don't really mind them a lot! But when they sleep in your shoulder, that's a problem.

5. Nervous Travellers (A.k.a The Scared Ones)
They are mostly people who are scared of flying or travelling in general. The bad thing about them is that they can make you afraid too, by telling you all kinds of air disasters.

These are the people that mostly annoy me on a plane. I try to be as open-minded with them as I can, but sometimes it's really hard. What about you? Who are the types of people that annoy you during a flight?

The Power Of Colours

Colours are all around us. We really can’t ignore them. Colours are the first thing we see in the morning: in the walls, on our phone, our toothbrush, our clothes, our door, etc. There are also a lot of colour idioms that we use, like: green with envy, make me see red, out of the blue, etc. What does it all mean? Are colours important or are them just something we can’t skip seeing in our daily routine?

The answer is YES! Colours are very important. They even affect our mood and personality. For example when someone is sick, it is better for them to stay in a green room. Below are some of the positive and negative sides of different colours.

RED is a very powerful colour. Red makes us more courageous, excited, helps waking our survival spirits, gives us warmth, strength and energy. On the other hand, it can make us aggressive and demanding. Red can also stimulate our appetite, so better avoid painting your kitchen red.

BLUE is the colour of the mind. It is the colour of intelligence, communications, logic and serenity, but on the other hand, blue shows coldness, unfriendliness and lack of emotion.

YELLOW is an optimistic colour. It helps lift our self-esteem and confidence. It can help you be more creative and friendly, but if you use it too much it can make you depressed and feel fear.

GREEN is the colour of balance, harmony, refreshment, universal love, peace and rest. On the other hand, this colour means boredom.

VIOLET or PUPLE is the colour of the spirit, luxury, quality and truth. Negatively, it is can mean decadence and inferiority. If used the wrong tone, it communicates something nasty and cheap.

ORANGE is the colour of physical comfort and food. It shows security, passion, sensuality and fun. Negatively, this colour means frustration and immaturity.

WHITE is the colour of purity, clarity and sophistication. On the other hand, this is the colour of the cold and unfriendliness.

BROWN is the colour of seriousness and reliability. Negatively, this colours mean lack of sophistication and lack of humor.

PINK is the colour of love, warmth and survival. But it can also mean emotional claustrophobia and physical weakness.

BLACK can make you feal secure and sophisticated. It is a colour that is never our of fashion. It is elegant, stylish, formal and timeless. But it can also be a little scary.

Colours have a great power, so we must know how to use them properly and in a way that they can help us. Going to a party? Dress orange to feel more sociable. Can’t settle down to work? Blue can help you concentrate. Feeling ill? There’s green.
I would really like to know which is your all time favorite colour and why? Do you know how it affects you? Let me know by commenting below.
